We showed up at 8PM to a literally (not figuratively) empty restaurant. Waiter was very friendly and attentive, but not all over us. All four entrees where delicious. Deviled short ribs were delicious. Rockfish was cooked to perfection. Only negative: Brie appetizer could have been a little warmer. No idea why no one else was dining there. Our experience was terrific.

I was tasked with picking a place for dinner (and treating) one of the nights my family was at the beach, which was more of a challenge than I expected. Taking into account everyone's various culinary likes/dislikes AND a place that takes reservations AND isn't astronomically expensive, was no easy task. I found MIxx & Mingle while browsing Yelp, and encouraged by positive reviews, an interesting menu, and available reservations, I was hooked. To my surprise, we arrived to an empty restaurant. I immediately panic. But that panic was quickly put aside when our server, Kristen, seated us and welcomed us with a huge smile. It's retro, funky, and fun inside - huge pop art prints/riffs, a fun collection of Martini glasses, great 80's music. After much deliberation, I ordered the Veracruz Mahi Tacos, along with a side of the Sauteed Brussels Sprouts with bacon. (My mom & aunt ordered the Seared Scallop appetizer, and I knew they would not share a bite of the brussels sprouts.) I think across the board, everyone was thrilled with what they ordered. My Mahi tacos were bright and flavorful. The refried black beans that come with the tacos were soupier than I expected, but delicious nonetheless. But wow, those brussels sprouts... so happy I ordered my own side of those. So delicious. Both my mom & aunt loved their Seared Scallop appetizers. I'm really puzzled by Mixx and Mingle's emptiness throughout our visit (although another couple was dining at the same time as us, and a couple showed up at the bar.) Is this a hidden gem a block off of the main drag? Is this a place that looks unassuming from the outside, causing no one to go in? Were we just lucky to have a great experience?

Really good food conveniently located close to the beach! I had shorts ribs that fell off the bone, and my daughter had the crab bruschetta flatbread - very flavorful! The truffle fries were amazing also! Friendly staff with a nice casual vibe..... You will enjoy your visit here!

Great food and martini's! We enjoyed burger night w/ the deckle burger and short rib burger. Both were outstanding - plus great craft martini's.The short rib was out of this world! Everyone around us was raving about their food. Service was outstanding - and Ginger and Meagan are putting out awesome food! I look forward to return visits!

Thrilled to pieces to refind Meaghan at Mixx & Mingle. She was amazing at Birch & Bramble- took stellar care of us- were both vegans- and made us feel like at home. Imagine my delight when we see her at Mixx & Mingle (she's the Mingle x10)... Same great smile, stellar service, friendly as family vibe, this will become our NEW favorite place to dine, bring friends and celebrate life

Well I have been going to burger night on Wednesdays for quite some time. I have noticed that these burgers have been getting smaller and smaller. I can get bigger and better burgers at many other establishments in Rehoboth for the same price or cheaper.

Great service and atmosphere but the food needs more attention. Need to stop using bottled garlic in the mussels. half of which were not open and the bison burger was cooked to order but dry.

Mixx was a mixed experience. Pun intended. We were there on a Tuesday which is live music night. The entertainment was good. Not great but good. We could still talk without yelling but it was a little intrusive. Tuesday is also half priced wine night. However they were out of the wine we wanted. The food was good but nothing special. The cream of asparagus and crab soup was delicious so no complaints but no bread. Nothing. No crackers or bread sticks. Just soup. The entrees were also average. The delivered our flat bread to the wrong table and made us feel like it was our fault. Tried to offer us the other tables flatbread. The ribs were nothing special. The salads were very good. Clearly the best choice from our table. Overall, nothing worth going back to experience. A one and done for me.

Surprised this little place is not more crowded. Nice choices of dishes and serving sizes. Crab corn chowder was creamy, filled with crab, and veggies but not too dense. Salads can be ordered small to accompany an entree. The grilled peach offers a nice balance of sweet and tart. The a spaghetti squash has a great Mediterranean flair. The curry has ample portions of shrimp and lobster. Flavor is good, but I like more kick in the sauce.

Stopped here with Nicole B on our Baltimore Ave bar crawl. We didn't order food, which we regretted because what we saw looked amazing. We were here for the Happy Hour specials, and the bartender Stefhan made me pear with extra pear since I didn't like vanilla. We met some fun people and stayed way longer than we had planned. Mixx is definitely going on the repeat list.

Impressed. Liked the braised shirt ribs and brussels sprouts. Crab cake was awesome with mostly crab and little breading. Spaghetti squash was a nice choice but a little bland.

We didn't actually get to eat.. but did get alot of attitude. Luckily there are a bunch of great places to eat nearby that actually understand the service industry.

This place was great last season and has seriously gone downhill. We've gone back twice this year, and won't be back again. The first time, the service was friendly was extremely slow - we chalked it up to Memorial Day weekend and gave the restaurant a pass. For our pains, we were comped with tiny little petit-four-like desserts on a Chinese soup spoon. Fine, okay. So, we went again a few weeks later - same thing. Friendly service, but exceedingly slow. No apologies until we said something to the manager (owner?), who tried to offer us the dessert spoon crap again. We declined. It was pouring down rain outside, so we decided to have a nightcap at the bar, hoping the rain would subside. They poured us our drinks, the power went out, and the bartender and then manager/owner dude told us we had five minutes before they were kicking us out into the pouring rain. So they can kick us out quickly, but can't serve food in a reasonable span of time? Eek! Methinks not again.

I've been here with my large family a few times. I personally am not a fan. The prices are high and the food is weird. Maybe the weird underground thing is cool but I'm not really fond of it. The appetizer portions are minuscule. Then dinner is either enormous or nothing depending on the day and plate. Burgers big, steak small... The scallops appetizer was something upwards of $25 and it came with 2 seared scallops that were overcooked under a heat lamp. Total let down. The menu has strange choices on it but if you are adventurous like that go for it. What really turned me off about this place though is the service. First of all in an empty restaurant with a party of 18 you'd think more than one waiter would be wise, but ya know who needs to do work or share tips. So we get one over worked stressed out server. Then on one occasion I had a pitcher of water spilled all over me, which realllyyyyy sucked. It took a long time for the server to go get any towels or napkins too. Then on another occasion the waiter was just a total jerk. Couldn't make a single recommendation, was short and snappy, and just overall a not nice guy. The worst part though was trying to explain how to not put cheese and meat on one item. (Kosher so no cheese on the steak flatbread) You would think oh no cheese got it *writes down "no cheese" and moves on* but no, this turned in to huge ordeal. Why don't you want cheese? Why order this if you don't like the way it is? It changes the whole thing....Dude come on that's your job just write it down. The only reason they don't get one star is the bar. The drinks here are great! So if you want a drink it's not bad but don't go for dinner.

Have been back 2 more times for drinks and once again had a blast! Came in for dessert after dinner down the street. We shared the chocloate molten cake which was fantstic. Just went back again last weekend for dessert and had cranberry apple bread pudding. I was less then impressed. This is the first thing i have not liked about this place. But i will still be back for dinner and for drinks. Love the atmosphere of this place!

Went there on a Wednesday; a $8 hamburger & 1/2 priced Martina special night. We had bison & Angus beef burgers. The burgers were good but not awesome. The sweet potato fries are excellent and so were the truffle fries. There are other entrees available on Wednesday's besides the burgers. There is a veggie burger. There are 4-5 steps down to enter the restaurant. It's does not appear to be handicap accessible if you are in a wheelchair unless there is another entrance besides the front door.

Mixx is a great restaurant that balances upper dining with a casual appeal. The martini menu is quite extensive and well worth sampling a couple choices. The fresh cut calamari appetizer is the best I have ever eaten! The calamari pieces are tender and buttery without any chewiness. On wednesday is their $8 specialty burger night. Go for the short rib burger, which is piled high with meat and topped with a light horseradish sauce! Best burger twist I've have eaten in years!

Mixx is down a half a flight of stairs from the street; an unusual setting in a beach town. If you don't let that deter you, you'll discover a city restaurant feel in the intimate space. After 3 consistently-good visits over 2 years, Mixx is one of our favorite RB restaurants. The server, Stephan, has been attentive and will offer helpful suggestions if asked. In the off season the BOGO (free) entree when paying cash is one of Rehoboth's best specials, This time we shared a Lobster Mac and Cheese and grilled MahiMahi with avocado oilve tapenade and chilled orzo salad. The Mahi was one of the most nicely- prepared pieces of fish I have had quite in a while. We started with a shared small Mixx green salad; the subtle mix of sweet and salty with a sprinkle of roasted peaches, candied pecans, and sprinkled feta in a roasted shallot dressing made a nice starter. On Wednesdays, the entire entree section is variations on burgers, including veggie and turkey. We shared a short ribs burger and a Sussex- raised bison burger; I thought the short ribs burger won for jucy deliciousness, but the bison was a great more classic burger. Good sweet potato fries. I didn't think the few thin spears of roasted asparagus were worth paying for as a side, either for the taste or nutrition of the dish.

Had dinner there tonight with my parents, husband and daughter. The fish and chips were shared as an appetizer. My Dad is an Englishman who gave them his very picky seal of approval. It came pretty quickly. The five entrees took a little bit longer than expected. When they arrived all were enjoyed. The new mini desserts re better Han the Chinese soup spoon they use to do. Liked them much more. We tried three and the apple cup was my favorite. We have had dinner there five times and always enjoyed it. I wish some beef were put back like the older menu and more choices for the larger plates. Overall though nice place for dinne. Colby was great server. The,kitchen could send things out a little faster. Will be back!

The scallops small plate and Martinis were great. The mushroom dish and flatbread were flavorless and soft. Just an all around overpriced meal without any quality. I would avoid unless your just at the bar.

Wow! Don't let the basement location fool you....incredible variety and unique flavors. Presentation of desserts are clever and add to the tasty flavors... Key lime mouse with Graham cracker crust presented in a martini glass. I had the pork burger with blueberry BBQ and goat cheese on ciabatte bread. What a surprise in my mouth...smooth creamy texture of the goat cheese, savory pork and lite sweet blue berry taste followed by a BBQ lite flavor. INCREDIBLE! Truffle fries were good. Mixx Salad small was delightful... Pecans, roasted peach and vinaigrette was a great combination. I usually do not mix flavors but this adventure made it all worth every bite. Plus Xavier, our waiter, was sweet, understanding with all our questions and super responsive. Recommend reservations due to large dinners parties, small space and seating goes fast after 7pm.

Burger night was awesome, I had the Asian burger which was awesome. Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their food and the martinis were fun to try although I don't remember a few of the last ones I had!:-)

This place is strictly amateur hour. We were a party of two. Waited two hours for an order of one salad and two hamburgers. Whoever owns this place should not be running a restaurant.

Great dining experience! Although they're tucked away in a basement location don't let that dissuade you. We noticed numerous people glance at the menu and then wander off - come down! Xavier began our experience with a warm welcome and continued to make us feel like long time regulars throughout our time there. He was very attentive and his recommendations were spotmon!mAll three of us were quite please with each course. Small salads were just the right size - with great tastes - to get our palates stimulated, each entree had bold, interesting, unique and complimentary flavors and the dessert menu, which was broken up into regular portions, tastes and bites was ingenious, not to mention delicious! We'll definitely be back!!

Getting a bite to eat @ Mixx was one of the best decisions I ever made while in RB for the RB 1/2 marathonl. The food was quite yummy, the staff treat you like you are truly one of "family" and Ginger is a rockstar of a bartender/owner. I will definately return again and again!

Just got home from a lovely dinner at Mixx. We had the shrimp and lobster curry and the short ribs in a balsamic wine reduction. The curry was light with a nice zip to it with plenty of seafood. The shortribs were soooo good and the sauce was to die for. Did have to wait a bit to be served but in all fairness about 4 groups of us all came in at once and we were last. But food was hot and fresh and worth waiting for. Watch their specials list on websight for great deals. Will definitely go again. Thanks Pete for a lovely meal !!!
